The grinberg method teaches through a wide range of contexts. Here are some of them:
Basic potential
Everybody has their own basic potential. We are all naturally born with potential, individually, which distinct us from each other. Growing up, we learn to adapt to our surroundings which can be influenced by many many things such as culture, social structures, history, religion, education, relationships, traumas and experiences of any kind. By continuously adapting ourselves we went further and further away from our own basic potential which in many cases can start to create friction in our lives that over time can become a real imbalance and start to appear as problematic. The cause of most inner suffering.
Patterns
Patterns are structures that we create out of routinized actions, behaviour, feelings, and ways of sensing that we build through life. Which becomes active when we are in certain situations or are exposed by certain triggers. Situations and triggers are different for each individual.
Do you see a pattern in your personal life in the way you respond in similar situations?
Is it a pattern that you are struggling with?
Read a little bit more about what a pattern is and how learning through the Grinberg Method® can support you to achieve what you want.
Why we build patterns
Most patterns are linked to a specific fear, trauma or experience that a person went through and are kept in his body. This can be from a major traumatic experience, a situation in which the person got hurt by a friend, a rejection from the teacher in school, a violent mother or any other kind of situation in which the person had to adapt to the situation in order to be able to handle the strong pain and fear that it provoked. Since the event was so strong and many times repetitive we learned to ‘protect’ ourselves but not knowing that we are actually damaging ourselves.
The effect of patterns on our bodies
With all the effort that we are doing to not feel the hurt, the pain, the humiliation, the rage or anger and any other kind of emotion we use a lot of effort in our bodies. For example a specific way of breathing, contracting muscles in specific parts of our bodies all in order to become hard and less sensitive. To protect ourselves from all what we don’t like to feel. All those efforts leave little energy for us to use in something that we love or that we want.
Well the answer, from the Grinberg Method® perspective, lies exactly in learning how to feel and experience emotions that we try to block and repress so much. By learning how you produce it you learn how to stop your response to it through your body. In order to transform the energy that you are putting in ‘not’ wanting to feel, into ‘wanting’ and gain back this energy and learn to use it for yourself.
Yes! it demands your will to go for a process like that, it's frightening, because it means to acknowledge, agree and allow to experience what you really did not want to feel so far which made you stuck in a circle many times. Therefore this way of learning is highly recommended to go through by guidance of a certified practitioner of the Grinberg Method®.
We have quite a large network throughout Europe!
The Teaching and learning aspect in the Grinberg Method® is a very important base and the thing that makes the method different from other methodologies. The methods approach in this context is that you don’t get only help that is applied through touch while you receive it passively. Through teaching you will get the chance to learn yourself how you can deal with any struggle that you experience. To empower you as an individual, in order to take back your power and deal with what you need.
Touch and verbal guidance
Practitioners are taught a wide variety of touch, that aims to communicate with your body, to get the best results for you in achieving your aim. While applying touch you are guided through verbal guidance. This combination of touch and verbal guidance is created to teach you through the most important aspects that you will learn in your individual process.
Custom made training programs
Training programs only include training that fits you as an individual and is aimed at gaining energy, expanding attention to your body and training in specific areas of your body. This depends on the aim you have set with your practitioner.
Aspects of learning in the Grinberg Method® approach
What this actually means is that you start to learn how much your body is involved in anything that you do in life. Any response, in any situation but in particular situations that provoke something in you. This happens on the level of thinking, doing, expressing, feeling and sensing the world around you. You automatically respond to block or repress what you feel because you don’t want it, it’s too much. Your body doesn’t like that. You might experience pain in specific places, you might feel that places in your body become rigid and painful. You might notice that your actions are hesitant, that you doubt about things, or you might simply not feel anything on an emotional of physical level. The base of all of that happens in your body.
Learning through your body means that you start to develop attention to your body. The more attention you have, the more you will be able to stop what is standing in between you and that what you want. Some examples of that could be a pain that you would love to end but you don’t manage and it influences your daily life, an emotional struggle, a skill that you want to develop but you don’t find the way to expand it or recovery from surgery that doesn’t happen the way it should.
In general people don’t want to feel pain. We try to do anything to block or disconnect from it. This way of disconnecting doesn’t allow our body to transform the pain to heal, and come out stronger.
The Grinberg Method® approach to pain is exactly the opposite. Let me explain it a little bit. When you feel pain, this can be on a physical or emotional level, you try to disconnect from it, to solve it, to understand it but most of the time you do not manage to deal with the source of it. It starts to have a recurring character. To transform pain, in short, means to learn what you do in your body and with your attention against the pain, in order to stop this.
Allowing fear
Fear is a natural energy, which every human being has naturally. Fear makes us alert, it wakes up our natural ability to sense our surroundings, it makes us aware of the fact that something is going on. Fear is not something that people really ‘like’ to feel. Through life we create a lot of anti-fear patterns.
Learning through the Grinberg Method® means learning to allow your fear. Which means learning to create awareness about the role of fear and your response to it and learning how to allow the flow of the energy of fear. That will support the body's work.
Letting the body work
There is nothing to allow in the body if there is not a little awareness about fear. Every living animal/human has fear in his body. We as humans forgot how it is to listen to our senses in that way. We repress them and create all kinds of symptoms, pain, illnesses and suffering that might be not needed if we would just connect to our natural fear a bit more.
Allowing fear in the body means allowing any flow of energy of fear in the body without repressing it. Combined with touch in the right place and specific verbal guidance from the practitioner you learn to connect to the place in your body where you block fear the most. In the process of stopping these blocks you learn how to let your body work in order to heal. Your body might shake, shiver or move. In this state, if the body can be totally free it can deal with how to regulate trapped energy by itself. The body has the natural ability to do this as long as we don’t repress it. In this state the body heals.
Breathing
A very important/central lesson that will be taught throughout the whole process of the Grinberg Method® is breathing. The way we breathe is usually superficial into our chest or only to our belly. Learning to expand your Breathing in sessions is applied in different forms, different ways. Always with the aim to energise, to expand your chest, to break through the pattern of making yourself smaller, to be energized again and give your body the energy that it needs to heal, to be well.
Our feet carry us through our life. Every area in our body has his own place in our feet as well. Many things can be seen through an assessment of our feet. We 'read' the relation between the signs of imbalances, difficulties, basic potential and the person's life.
Analyse of your feet can be done at any moment but for sure is applied in the beginning stage of your process to create and define a strategy for the continuation of the process.
For me the most amazing thing is to teach individual human beings to take back control of their life in this way.
In order to be strong and powerful enough to continue their life by themselves because they learned to be in their body.
You don't have to suffer even if you think there is no other option for you.
There are lessons to learn for the one that wants.
