Through life I learned many valuable lessons which all served me to become more of myself. ‘I can achieve what I want or I will find a way to get as close as I can to it’. A sentence and way of living that directed me into quite some interesting journeys on the way but at the same time also brought me where I am now.
In 2021 I left Holland where I was born and raised to start a traveling journey. Not knowing where I would end up or what I would face ahead. To choose to step out of my comfortable well structured professional and social life was one of the most powerful, frightening and exciting choices I made.
Shortly after I left Holland, I got to know the Grinberg Method® and without really understanding a lot about it, I knew that I found an opportunity to expand my learning exactly how I needed it. I started the official Grinberg Method® studies, started practicing and in early 2025 I graduated. Parallel to my studies I learned and trained with Avi Grinberg himself. The way I learned from him has such great value to my development on a personal and professional level that describing in words will not cover the depth of the meaning it has to me.
In my former profession as a social worker I met many people in crisis situations. I was there when they went through difficult periods in their life which many times had a recurring character. Crisisses could appear due to a wide variety of reasons, but in many of the situations, with all the help they got, people struggled constantly to find their real power back. I saw that the state of powerlessness, the experience of being a victim to the situation is not a basis to confidently go to a battle with a result of winning that was valid for everyone.
Once I learned more and more in depth about the Grinberg Methodology, I realised that I found an answer to the puzzling question that I had of ‘How can I support people in a battle that they fight in a way that they individually can benefit from’.
I learned that the answer is lying in our bodies. That whatever we can understand with our mind is great but that the real power of understanding happens by experiencing through our bodies.
One experience that amazed me was when I received a session in the very beginning of my own personal process. We worked on a subject that was related to my response to an emotion. Avi asked me ‘do you feel that you tense up your left shoulder?’. I was completely sure that I was relaxed.
I didn’t feel any tension. I had no idea where he was talking about and I started to be frustrated because I, for some reason, couldn’t feel what he asked me. I paid attention to my left shoulder and at some point in the session suddenly my shoulder made a move, like it dropped down. I didn’t do that intentionally. I felt a strong wave of energy flowing through the whole left side of my arm and there I understood how much effort I was holding in that place and how much energy I lost by making this tension in my muscles. The strong flow that I felt was the energy that got released and for days I could feel a big difference between my left and right arm.
I expanded my learning on a personal level and discovered that everything that happens in life somehow creates a response in us, in our body and that when we learn how to stop these responses there is a chance to be free, to stay confident, true to our will and power and that there is a chance to grow into our potential. An amazing journey.
To work as a practitioner of the Grinberg Method® for me doesn't feel like work at all.
To teach people how to deal with something that they are struggling with, a physical pain or an emotional battle is by far one of the most satisfying things I experience in my life. The achievements I see in reality is what makes me excited again and again in going through a process with somebody.
To be there as a teacher and to see people taking back control over the thing they were sure they lost all control on is just simply the best.
After I left Holland I arrived to a place located in the beautiful mountains of Spain between Valencia and Alicante region.
The place has a beautiful project going on in the direction of Syntropic agroforestry. I followed some courses to get to know the matter. It highly fascinates me to observe that the approach of the Grinberg Method® and Syntropic agroforestry have many similarities. I learned to observe the land, the species in it, I learned how to move with nature, to support it to be as thriving as it can be, according to its basic potential. Even if it means that sometimes a big chainsaw has to do its work to cut through the wood, there is always the awareness for the aim of the action, the question 'what can I do to support this piece of land so it can grow into its potential' is always in my attention. A sentence that one on one can be applied on how I work in the working room with clients.
I experienced the great power of a wildfire that was active in the late summer of 2022. There I met the real power of nature and the fact that I, as an individual, couldn't stand up against such a strong force. On the other hand I also learned that even after the great destruction beautiful things started growing again, new species, animals found their way back and nature continued all by itself.
For me the way of working with people, supporting them in their individual process combined with days of work on the land where I live, is a dream come true.
